According to Safe Kids Worldwide, approximately 2,500
children per year reported to Emergency Rooms and an average of 229 children
per year died after being struck by a vehicle in a driveway or a parking
area. Close to half of children injured in these incidents were ages 1-4.
Sadly, in over 60% of these incidents, there was a parent or close relative
behind the wheel of the car. Always use caution when backing up!
